The Taylor County Commission has agreed to seek a $175,000 grant to fund the planning and design services necessary to dredge the Keaton Beach canal and Steinhatchee boat ramp basin.
The grant will be part of the county’s expected $4 million in RESTORE Act “Pot 1” funds resulting from administrative fines and civil penalties levied after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, which are held by the U.S. Department of Treasury in a Gulf Coast Restoration Trust Fund (created by the federal RESTORE Act).
