    Dennard Lonell “D.L.” White

    Dennard Lonell “D.L.” White, 88, passed away on Oct. 8, 2019, at his residence at Keaton Beach. D.L. was born Sept. 29, 1931, in Alma, Ga., to Ambers Nealey White and Iva Lee Thomas White.

    D.L. was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Blue Creek Baptist Church.

    He worked as a truck driver with Consolidated Freightways (CF) for 33 years and started a Keaton Beach-based shrimp industry known as “Rising Sun Shrimp Company” in 1985.

    D.L. was preceded in death by: his parents, Ambers and Iva Lee White; as well as his two brothers, Daris “Whitey” White and Drexel White; one sister, Shelva Jean Tridico, and his daughter, Donna Kay White.

    D.L. is survived by: his wife, Glenda White; his son, D.J. White; three sisters, Thelma Jackson, Lorene Young and Audrey Faye Burton; four grandchildren, Dustin White, Nick White, Clifford White and Tyler Pitts; as a well as a host of nieces and nephews.

    A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m. the family’s residence (21095 Keaton Beach Dr.).
