Quilts on display

The extravagant patchwork quilts of the Forest Capital Quilting Guild will be on display for two weeks at Vystar Credit Union beginning Monday, Oct. 21.

Set up will begin at 9 a.m. at 2000 S. Byron Butler Pkwy, and the quilts will remain on display until Friday, Nov. 1.

The Forest Capital Quilt Guild displays their handmade quilts every year to spark interest in quilting. The organization makes quilts for “veterans, victims of fire, homeless — anyone in need.”

“We promote the art of quilt making and share the quilting experience. We are both an educational and a charitable organization,” organizers said.

The quilt guild meets the first Thursday of every month from 6 to 8 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. There is a $25 membership fee
