    True crime author to speak

    Posted on October 18, 2019

The Friends of the Taylor County Public Library will present retired lawyer and University of Florida Law Professor and true crime author, George R. “Bob” Dekle Sr., on Monday, Oct. 28, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

“Join us as Bob discusses his latest book, ‘Six Capsules: The Gilded Age Murder of Helen Potts,’ and draws comparisons between Helen Pott’s husband, Carlyle Harris (who would be tried and convicted for her murder in the sensational New York case) and Ted Bundy, whom Dekle was responsible for prosecuting in Florida,” Friends President James Gross said.

Dekle is a prolific author of true crime books, and is related to the late Taylor County businessman, Gus J. Dekle, who founded and developed Dekle Beach, here in Taylor County.

    Light refreshments will be served.

The free program is open to the public, and will be held at the library, 403 N. Washington St.
