Although the utility trucks staged at Perry-Foley Airport for Hurricane Dorian have become a distant memory, the sight of hundreds, if not thousands, of vehicles and personnel at the airport could become a more common occurrence in the future with the county in talks to designate the airport as a strategic staging site.
At its Sept. 3 meeting, the commission heard from Tim Bolton of Lodging Solutions out of Houston, Texas, a logistic company that has contracts with Duke Energy and Florida Power & Light to provide housing and accommodations for linemen responding to natural disasters.
