New sidewalks for Green Street

Work is now underway to extend the sidewalk along Green Street to connect to Taylor County Elementary School and Taylor County Primary School.

The $500,000 project was funded through the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Local Agency Program. The Taylor County Commission applied for assistance with the program back in 2013. FDOT originally allocated $360,000 for the project, but after all of the bids were well over that amount, the state agency provided an additional $151,000 this past summer.
