Gun pulled during dispute

A verbal argument regarding property rights escalated to an armed altercation Saturday, Jan. 11, at a residence on A.V. Brannen Road.

One of the individuals involved in the altercation, Charles Edward Newcomer, 43, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. He posted a $50,000 bond and was released the following day (Sunday, Jan. 12).
