Houck Road paving nears

The long-awaited resurfacing of Houck Road is several steps closer to realization, after the Taylor County Commission awarded the project to Anderson Columbia Co., Inc., Monday evening and agreed to use $611,000 in local paving funds to make up for a shortfall in the state allocation.

Anderson Columbia’s $1,333,272.67 bid was the only one received when the county commission opened bids at its Jan. 6 meeting.
