Taylor County residents began to feel the ripple effect of disruption to daily life in the wake of nationwide concerns about the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), as city, county and school officials began to make contingency plans and area nursing homes, jails and prisons restricted visitation.
The Taylor County School District officials were considering re-scheduling a planned middle school field trip to Washington, D.C., as well as potentially implementing self-quarantine measures for students who travel out of the U.S. during spring break.
