‘Catch a killer’ during summer online course

    Posted on May 13, 2020

Saint Leo University’s Department of Criminal Justice is converting its 2020 Summer Institute into a seminar delivered through a digital platform.

The summer institute’s topic is “The Art of Identifying, Investigating and Apprehending Serial Killers, Spree Killers and Murderers: An Interactive Learning Experience.”

The course will highlight the differences among three categories of killers and discuss the investigative techniques that should be employed by law enforcement in these cases.

Taking place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, May 18, through Thursday, May 21, the four-day seminar will be offered live, online via Zoom (a videoconferencing platform).

The seminar schedule will include lectures from prominent speakers on profiling and small group discussions.

This is a new time and teaching platform for this seminar, which had originally been planned as a classroom-based experience, officials said. Certificates of completion will be available.

Registration is open now at https://www.saintleo.edu/cj-events.
