    District braces for state funding cuts

    If there is a silver lining to be found in the empty classrooms and shuttered schools for the final nine weeks of the 2019-20 school year, it will be the estimated savings the district will see as it projects an ending fund balance of 10 percent (an estimated $2.6 million).

    “But, we are going to need most likely every penny of that for the unknowns going forward for next year,” Finance Director Ashley Valentine told school board members at their May meeting.
