The Perry Police Department (PPD) and Perry Fire Department responded to a crash on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. on Jefferson Street after a driver struck a parked vehicle.
According to the PPD Capt. Gene Franklin, the driver of a 2019 Jeep Wrangler, Randy Hearne, was traveling northbound on Jefferson Street when the sunlight obstructed his view, causing him to look away. As a result, the front left side of the Wrangler struck the right rear of a parked 2016 Chevy Malibu. Hearne was cited at fault for the accident and received a citation for failure to maintain a single lane. No injuries were reported.
