Twenty months after work first began on the 15.3-mile Fenholloway River pipeline project — part of the ongoing environmental improvements at Georgia-Pacific’s (GP) Foley Cellulose Mill — the pipe is 100% in the ground.
According to the latest update presented to the Taylor County Commission Monday evening, crews are working to finish cleaning out the pipes, and start-up testing is set to begin on Sept. 30, after GP officials request more time to work to restore roads and rights-of-way impacted by the construction.
