    Winningham named Lady of Year

    Posted on July 15, 2020

Carolyn Winningham was honored at a luncheon held Friday, July 10, at The Venue, as members of the local chapter of Beta Sigma Phi paid tribute to her tireless work through the Weekend Backpack Program. Seated beside her husband, Billy, she was presented a plaque and dish garden. Pictured with the Winninghams are: (from left) Hilda Armstrong, President Rhonda Brooks, Karen Falicon, President-elect Katie King and Lori Wiggins.

“I’m glad I was sitting down or I would have fallen down,” said Carolyn Winningham when she learned she was the 2020 Lady of the Year, an honor
awarded annually by the Mu Omega chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.

Winningham then held her faces in her hands, told her husband he was in trouble for not sharing the secret, and immediately began dispensing praise to those all around her — for their organizational skills, their computer savvy, friendship and dependability that makes the Weekend Backpack Food Program so successful in the Taylor County School District.
