EMT fired, deputy suspended

A Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) lieutenant has been suspended and a Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) emergency medical technician (EMT) has been terminated after a self-proclaimed equal rights activist shared what he claims are “racist” and “disgusting” Facebook posts with their employers.

Following a recent nationwide trend in which social media posts have landed workers in hot water, at least four local public employees have been singled out for their online posts, comments, “likes” and shares.
