Drive-thru ‘Back to School Bash’ is planned on Aug. 5

First Baptist Church (FBC) will hold its annual Back to School Bash on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Due to COVID-19, this year’s event will be a scaled-down drive-thru with adherence to all social-distancing guidelines. While supplies lasts, K-12 students who participate in the drive-thru will receive school supplies, and everyone will receive a bagged hot dog meal.

Taylor County Emergency Management and other agencies will also be on-site.

Entrance for the “Bash” will be via Green and Main streets onto Aquanaldo Street, entering the FBC campus through the grass parking lot.

Gates will open at 6:30 p.m.

First Baptist Church is located at 102 North Center St.

“Our goal is to bless our community in a small way during increasingly difficult times brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and other economic disturbances,” said Pastor Steven Ruff.
