Mayor Alan Hall opened Friday’s emergency virtual meeting by pointing out that in order to repeal the ordinance passed two days before, four of the five council members would have to vote in favor.
Councilman Ward Ketring immediately offered the following statement, “As a member of the City Council, and as a citizen of Perry, I am deeply concerned about the health and well-being of our community. The City Council voted on an emergency ordinance to mandate wearing masks in public due to the COVID-19 outbreak. With good will, I voted for the ordinance.”
