Taylor County school bus drivers will be equipped to disinfect buses after “each and every run,” Transportation Coordinator Wendy Slaughter told the school board Monday, while highlighting safety precautions her department is taking for the coming school year.
“We will also have seating charts in order to keep families (seated) together, and will utilize bus aides on as many buses as we can to try to control the children.” Students, she said, “will be strongly encouraged to wear a mask on the bus. However, it is not mandated. If a child gets on the bus and does not have a mask, we will have masks individually packaged that we can hand out. Also, many of the drivers will be wearing face shields.”
