The Taylor County School District spent more than $470,000 in the weeks leading up to the start of the 2020-21 school year as it prepared to adhere to health and safety guidelines dictated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The district received a $900,000 allocation under the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to address safety concerns. Based on requirements in the CARES Act, private schools received $100,000 of the allocation.
