Give blood

Look for the Big Red Bus and plan to donate blood at the second annual Noah’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Day this Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Perry Elks Lodge.

The bloodmobile will be accepting donations from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. All donors will receive two pairs of OneBlood cancer awareness socks as well as a wellness checkup that includes a COVID-19 antibody test, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screenings.

The event is being held in honor of Noah Amador, who was diagnosed with skull-base Chordoma at 20 months. He has received countless blood transfusions to sustain him through 16 rounds of chemo, 41 rounds of radiation and a bone marrow transplant.
