The sun glowed like a red ember overhead, dulled by the thick, hazy smoke churning towards the sky, as the Bobcat Fire ravaged Los Angeles (LA) County, California, charring the area’s tall firs to matchsticks.
In his 28 years with the Florida Forestry Service (FFS), Perry resident John Fish had never seen a fire season as bad as this one.
