    COVID-19 claims ‘one of a kind’ friend, role model, ‘mother hen’

    Ginger Eustice is the first correctional officer from Taylor County Correctional Institution (TCI) reported to have died from COVID-19.

    The Taylor Correctional Institute (TCI) family is mourning the loss of a “one-of-a-kind” veteran officer after Ginger Eustice succumbed to COVID-19 on Oct. 2 following a month-long battle with the virus.

    Eustice, who was reportedly just four months shy of retirement, dedicated two decades of “selfless service to the people of Florida” since joining the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) in 1998.
