Cedar house auctioned

After nine years of legal wrangling, the Cedar Island property at the center of a contentious code enforcement battle was sold to the highest bidder on the rear steps of the courthouse last Tuesday.

After an appeal and ruling by the District Court of Appeals and a lower court order “Resetting Judicial Sale,” the Taylor County Clerk of Court advertised a legal notice in the local newspaper offering the property for sale to the highest and best bidder for cash on Oct. 6 at at 11 a.m.
