Beach sewer issue resolved

Taylor County coastal property owners previously caught in a real-life “Catch-22” involving sewer services now have new options after the Taylor County Commission approved an ordinance resulting from a compromise reached between the Taylor Coastal Water & Sewer District (TCWSD) and the attorney representing two affected property owners.

In June, the commission voted to take no action on a request from Attorney Ray Curtis to amend the county’s ordinance regarding sewer hook-ups within TCWSD’s service area, but reconsidered two months later, voting 3-2 to hold a hearing on the proposed change in August.
