    A never-ending project?

    Posted on October 16, 2020

Nearly seven months after issuing a notice to proceed, the county commission continues to field complaints surrounding the 1.5-mile project to widen and resurface Foley Cut-Off Road between Hwy. 30 (Foley Road) and U.S. Hwy. 27 East.

Originally expected to take four months, the project has subjected residents living in the area to cut utility lines, rough and muddy driving conditions and isolated flooding. The county commission received five bids for the project in November 2019, before awarding the project to the low bidder, Pigott Asphalt and Sitework, LLC for $1,023,000.
