    $17.3 million railroad upgrade 93% complete

    Work on the $17.3 million project to upgrade the railroad between Perry and Adel, Ga., is now more than 93% complete, and there are still enough funds available from the original federal grant to expand the scope of work to include three additional bridge repairs along the project’s length.

    This week, the Taylor County Commission received a quarterly update from Heather Pullen of Langton Consulting, which, along with Track Guy Consultants, was hired by the county to oversee the project and manage the $8.6 million federal grant that is funding half of the work.
