City council votes to keep mask ordinance

The city council has opted to keep its mandatory mask ordinance in effect, despite the fact Governor Ron DeSantis has issued an executive ordinance preventing local governments from collecting fines from those cited for being in violation.

City Manager Taylor Brown asked for the council’s direction at the city’s Oct. 13 meeting, stating that he had been asked about the city’s mask ordinance by the public as well as members of the council.
