Deadline extended to register for Master Gardener course

The deadline to join the upcoming Master Gardener volunteer training course has been extended to Jan. 15.

The course is scheduled to begin Feb. 18 and continue through April 29.

Classes will be held at the Taylor County Extension Office (203 Forest Park Dr.).

Applications are available online at: https://gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/mastergardener/about/.

The fee is $125 and includes the Master Gardener manual.

“Research demonstrates that volunteering leads to better health, those who volunteer have lower mortality rates, greater functional ability and lower rates of depression later in life than those who do not,” said Agricultural & Natural Resources Agent Lisa Strange.
