The Department of Health in Taylor County expects to receive 200 doses of the COVID vaccine this week and plans to hold a mass vaccination clinic this Friday, Jan. 22.
The clinic will be held at the department of health, located adjacent to Dorsett Stadium (1215 North Peacock Ave.), and vaccinations will be given by appointment only.
“We are working off the current waiting list,” Public Information Officer and Operations Manager Martine Young said.
“The clinic will operate like a normal doctor’s appointment. Patients will come at their appointment time, fill out paperwork and be called back,” she said.
“We are calling people off our waiting list as we receive vaccines in. If they have registered for our list and haven’t gotten a call, it is because we haven’t reached their name yet. Currently, we have more than 3,000 names on the wait list. We are still taking names for the list from those age 65 or older or healthcare workers. They can call our office (850-584-5087, option 2) or fill out the form online,” she said.
