Taylor County’s solid waste roll-off collection sites are being broken into on a nightly basis, as vandals have cut holes in fences or ripped down gates to steal scrap metal or sift through garbage in search of pills and other items.
That was the message delivered to the Taylor County Commission recently by Environmental Services Director Gary Wambolt, who oversees the county’s solid waste department. He addressed the commission during its Jan. 28 workshop, and although multiple aspects of the department were topics of discussion, a significant portion of the talk revolved around the break-ins at county roll-off sites.
