JANUARY 1991: Standing at attention, Matt Eckel turns to face approximately 100 family, friends and business leaders who have gathered in his honor, all beaming with pride as the then-17-year-old is presented with Boy Scouts of America’s highest achievement – an Eagle Scout award.
At the time, only two percent of all Boy Scouts ever reaches the rank of Eagle Scout.
