IRS extending income tax deadline to May 17

Those who have been putting off filing their annual tax return received some welcome news this week, as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced Wednesday that the federal income tax filing due date for individuals has been extended one month.

According to the IRS, the tax deadline for the 2020 tax year has been moved from April 15 to May 17, and the IRS will be providing more formal guidance in the coming days.
