Schools will scrap online TEC option

After countless hours of training, pouring more than $233,000 into establishing the program and requiring major adjustments for both students and teachers, the Taylor County School District has announced its TEC (Taylor E-learning Canvas) simply “was not successful for our district.”

What this means for local students is that the program will be discontinued for the upcoming school year and that parents will have two options when it comes to sending their children to school: the traditional “brick and mortar” setting or Florida Virtual School (FLVS).
