Although a number of applications are still being processed, nearly $390,000 has already been given out through the first four weeks of Taylor County administering a second phase of local individual and small-business financial relief assistance programs funded by the federal CARES Act.
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act is a $2.2 trillion economic stimulus bill passed by Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump on March 27, 2020, in response to the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
