he Perry City Council has started the process of repealing its controversial mandatory face covering ordinance, and will instead replace it with a resolution encouraging residents to follow CDC guidelines.
“I would just like to request that we repeal the facemask ordinance and replace it with a resolution at this time, since it is not so bad,” said Councilwoman Shirlie Hampton, the city’s most outspoken proponent of the facemask ordinance.
