The Taylor County Commission’s grant application to utilize $617,000 of its RESTORE Act funds to acquire 3.95 acres at Spring Warrior to site a new public boat ramp has received its first approval.
The project is one of three the county has designated for its projected $12.6 million RESTORE Act “Pot 3” allocation. The RESTORE Act funding comes from penalties, fines and fees assessed following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, which will be paid out over 15 years.
