With rising property values injecting additional revenues into the county’s coffers, the Taylor County Commission is expected to keep its property tax millage rates for 2021-22 the same as the current year, a move that will still generate $688,000 in additional revenue.
The commission will hold a special meeting Thursday, July 29, at 9 a.m. to set the county’s proposed millage (property tax) rate. Once set, the commission can later reduce the millage rates, but it cannot increase them.
