    COVID cases fall 25%, Taylor still #2 in state

    Although the number of new COVID-19 cases reported in Taylor County last week fell 25% from the previous week, the county still has the second highest “population adjusted” rate of new cases in Florida.

    Due to delays associated with the Labor Day holiday, federal data was not available as press time Tuesday to compare Taylor County with the rest of the country. In the federal COVID-19 Community Profile Report released Monday, Aug. 30, Taylor County had the second highest “population adjusted” rate of new cases of any county in the United States.
