Despite some sightings of dead fish floating off the local coast over a week ago, there is no evidence that red tide is currently present along Taylor County’s Gulf coast, according to local Marine Agent Victor Blanco.
While a patchy bloom of the red tide organism (Karenia brevis) persists along parts of Florida’s Gulf Coast, red tide was not observed in samples collected from nearby Wakulla and Dixie counties last week.
