Slaughter Rd. resurfacing held up by FDEP permits

Environmental permitting issues have delayed the state-funded widening and resurfacing of Slaughter Road.

At its Monday, Dec. 6, meeting, the Taylor County Commission approved a supplemental agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), which is funding the work, to extend the county’s deadline to complete the project until Dec. 31, 2023, allowing county staff to continue to work with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) over permitting issues.
