Marcia Baxter (Parker)

Marcia Baxter (Parker), born in Philadelphia, Pa., passed away on Dec. 23, 2021, at the age of 70.

She suffered a heart attack and stroke in October, and never regained her strength.

She had an incredible love for animals of all kinds, including her beloved Sheba, who was by her side until the end.

She also was quite the movie fanatic.

She grew up on Long Island, N.Y., until she enlisted in the Navy to serve in Vietnam. She loved to make people laugh and tell stories of being in the Army and Navy.

She never stayed in one place too long, but seemed to put roots in Perry for the past 15 years or so.

She is survived by: her best friend, Barbara Sumrall; four daughters, Sharon Charles Zelaya (Neptaly Zelaya), Jennifer Charles, Heather Charles (Thomas “Scott” Randall) and Jessie Baxter (Johanna Miller); and a son, Mark Baxter.

She is also survived by12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Warren Parker, and her son, Christopher Charles.

Her daughter, Heather, and son, Mark, relied on her for daily care until she got too weak to do so.

Due to the unexpected death of Marcia, the family is requesting financial assistance with end of life costs instead of flowers.
