Sidewalks for Ash Street, Beach Road?

The Taylor County Commission will hold a public hearing next week to consider applying for state funding to fund the construction of two additional sidewalks in the county.

The commission discussed six possible sidewalk projects at its Jan. 3 meeting, narrowing their focus down to one along Johnson Stripling Road and Ash Street near Taylor County High School (TCHS) in Perry, as well as a second down Keaton Beach Road through the coastal community. However, before the county submits the applications to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for consideration — to be funded during the state’s 2028 fiscal year — the commission is required to hold a public hearing during its regular meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 18, beginning at 9 a.m.
