COVID deaths hit 100 here

Twenty-three months after the first case of COVID-19 was reported here, Taylor County reached a grim milestone as the official death toll has now reached 100 people lost to the disease.

The latest death was included in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Community Profile Report published Monday, based on data from last week. The Florida Department of Health (DOH) does not directly publish county-by-county COVID death figures and instead reports that data to the CDC, which then releases the numbers through its reports.
