“Metallica: Through the Never” is a hardcore celebration of the band’s rock legacy with a who’s who of their favorite ear-thundering hits, from “For Whom the Bell Tolls” and “Ride the Lighting” to “Master of Puppets” and “One.”
Making use of the film’s 3-D, we get an up close and personal look at the band as they rock out before thousands of fans while standing on one of the more elaborate stages I’ve seen a band use.
This isn’t Justin Bieber or Katy Perry. This is Metallica. And they’ve come to rock. And they do.
The film is rated R for some violent content and language.
