Snapper season to close Oct. 22

The recreational harvest of red snapper will close Oct. 22 in state waters of the Gulf of Mexico, with the final day of harvest being Oct. 21.

The season closed Oct. 15 in Gulf federal waters. State waters are from shore to 9 nautical miles in the Gulf and federal waters are from 9 nautical miles out to 200 nautical
miles.
