More than $5 million in state funds included in Florida’s 2022-23 state budget earmarked for projects in Taylor County have survived Gov. Ron DeSantis’ veto pen.
The governor, who signed the $109.9 billion budget on Thursday, June 2, has line-item veto power to strike individual allocations. According to a list published by the governor’s office, DeSantis vetoed $3.1 billion from the budget, including $2.9 billion from general revenue and $174 million from trust funds. This includes $1 billion cut from the state’s inflation fund.
