Susan “Sue” Davis, formerly of Perry, passed away on June 15, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park after a short illness.

Sue was born to the late Harry Henley and Kathleen Browne Saunders on Sept. 14, 1924, in St. Augustine.

In December 1949, Sue married the love of her life, Olin Davis, and they would enjoy almost 52 years of marriage before his death in 2001.

During her career, Sue worked in various administrative positions, including as a payroll clerk for Buckeye and as the lunchroom coordinator for Taylor County schools.

Sue cherished her family and enjoyed the time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their families.

She was happiest on the water fishing or on the back of a horse for a slow leisurely ride. She was both an accomplished equestrian and an avid fisherwoman.

Her days spent with Olin and family on the Fishing Fever were some of her favorite.

Sue is survived by: two children, Philip (April) and Brenda (Pete); five grandchildren, Kate (Ed), Jake (Kelley), Brandon (Laurel), Amber and Ashby (Nicolette); 10 great-grandchildren, Caroline, Molly, Jackson, Elizabeth, Harper, Waylon, Hamilton, Cadman, Cyrus and Laleh; and her nephews and nieces, Louis, Andy (Beebe), Lee Ann (Terry), Barbara and Liz (Greg) and their families.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Sue was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen, and her niece, Debbie.

Sue lived a long and happy life touching and being touched by many along the way.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 25, at 2 p.m. At Burns Funeral Home of Perry. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sue’s name to the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch, P.O. Box 2000, Boy’s Ranch, FL, 32064.
