5 elected unopposed

When the 2022 qualifying period deadline passed at noon on Friday, five local candidates were either elected or re-elected without opposition – including Alicia York Beshears, who will be Taylor County’s next superintendent of schools.

Incumbent Taylor County School Board members Bonnie Sue Agner (District 1), Brenda Carlton (District 2) and Danny Lundy (District 4), as well as Perry City Councilman Ward Ketring (District 5), also secured new terms in office without facing opposition.
