Davis was excited for first Gulf trip in years

According to his wife of 24 years, Russ Davis was “excited” about joining his friend Jimmie Taylor for an afternoon of fishing and scalloping off the Taylor County coast this past Saturday.

“Jimmie had a new airboat and offered to take us both, but I don’t go on the Gulf because I got caught in a storm years ago,” Connie Davis said.
