Corliss Wade Stephens, 79, of Perry passed away peacefully on Dec. 13, 2022, at her home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Stephens was born Dec. 27, 1942, in Alma, Ga., to Simeon J. Wade and Daisy Boatright Wade.
Corliss Stephens was of the Christian faith and was a member of Antioch Revival Center. She was an active member for more 50 years where she taught Sunday school.
She was one of the original founders of the gospel singing group “The Voices of Antioch.”
She loved the outdoors, fishing, family and, most of all, her Lord.
She was a light in a dark place, a mother in Christ to many and a warm place for all. She loved singing and letting her light shine for all to see.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 49 years, Charles W. (Dub) Stephens, and her parents.
Mrs. Stephens is survived by: one brother, Jack Wade of Yulee; one daughter, Michelle (Robert) Watson; granddaughter, Cyndie (Jeremy) Fowler; and grandson, Roland Watson.
She is also survived by: six great grandchildren, Bryson Fowler, Taylor Fowler, Alayna Fowler, BrookeLynn Padgett, Trenten Grubbs, Makayla Grubbs, Andrea Watson, Roland Watson Jr.; and one great-great-grandchild , Alexis Parker. She is also survived by a host of brothers and sisters in Christ, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 4 p.m. at Waters Cemetery in Steinhatchee, with Brother Bobby Joe Hires, Brother B.B. Barwick and Brother Robert (Cricket) Watson officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, at Antioch Revival Center.
Active pallbearers will be: Treye Wade, Marc Johns, Sidney Adams, Jacob Craft, Mark Stephens, and Wayne Padgett. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Stephens and Jimmie Holloway.
